The short version
We keep as little as we can. To sign in we need your email address. Your logbook of sightings is saved on your own device. We don't sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
Who we are
Platform Edge is run by Tyler Odell in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we store and why
- Your email address, so we can send you a sign-in code and recognise your account. Lawful basis: providing the service you asked for.
- Sign-in records (when you signed in, your IP address and browser), to keep accounts secure and stop abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (security).
- A bot check on the sign-in page, run by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at browser signals to tell people from bots. It doesn't track you across sites.
- Your logbook (numbers copped, sessions, places) is saved only on your device for now. If we add cloud saving, we'll update this page before it goes live.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. The app uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to save your logbook. That's strictly necessary for the app to work.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase runs sign-in and stores your account, in London.
- Resend sends the sign-in emails, from Ireland.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the bot check.
Each only handles your data to provide that service for us.
How long we keep it
Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Sign-in records are kept for a limited time for security, then removed.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Platform Edge isn't meant for children under 13.
